Ekaru Expands Team to Accommodate Growth

Technology Outsource Services Company Adds IT Heavyweights from Sycamore Networks and Tufts-New England Medical Center

WESTFORD MASS., June 19, 2006 - Ekaru, LLC, a strategic hands on IT services company, today announced that it had recently hired two additional Senior Technology Advisors to join its team of technology industry professionals.

Joseph Zahavi, formerly a Senior Quality Assurance Manager at Sycamore Networks, and Joe Bakan, previously Director of Educational Media at Tufts-New England Medical Center, have a combined 44 years of experience to add to Ekaru’s existing team of knowledgeable technology professionals, who collectively posses more than 100 years of IT know-how and judgment.

With more than 19 years in high-technology, including large-scale system integration, broadband access, wireless networking, application tuning, high-speed telecommunication devices, software quality assurance, and military sensor systems, Joseph Zahavi brings a vast array of technical and project management experience to Ekaru.

At Sycamore Networks, Joseph’s hands on experience included network architecture, embedded Linux programming, Java network management, and test lab and customer service facility planning. Joseph previously held positions as a Senior Consulting Engineer at Kollsman, HDSL System Engineer at PairGain Technologies, and Radar Software Specialist at Hughes Aircraft.

He earned his BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT in 1987 and 1988.

Joe Bakan, in addition to his stewardship as Director of Educational Media at Tufts-New England Medical Center, brings over 25 years in information technology to his new position with Ekaru. His IT background includes strong experience in advanced data communications and in the integration of voice, video, and data over the network.

Prior to joining Ekaru, Joe worked closely with the Tufts’ central IT department to integrate IP video services across the university data network, while addressing the special issues of video data communications, such as network performance, connectivity, and security. He was instrumental in the development of videoconferencing capability between Tufts campuses and was responsible for the management of the live videoconferencing on the Tufts University network.

Joe holds an M.S. in Biomedical Communications from the University of Cincinnati, and B.A from Antioch College.
