Management Team

Joseph Zahavi - Senior Technology Advisor - jzahavi@ekaru.com.

Joseph Zahavi has 19 years experience in high-tech including large-scale system integration, broadband access, wireless networking, application tuning, high-speed telecommunication devices, software quality assurance, and military sensor systems. Joseph now brings his vast technical and project management experience to Ekaru to serve the fast-growing small business technology market.

Prior to Ekaru, Joseph served as Senior Consulting Engineer at Kollsman, a subsidiary of Elbit Systems of America, where he managed large-scale EO proposals for US Defense systems. He defined requirements, and was responsible for managing a $3M navigation program for the Israeli Navy. Joseph also contributed to the success of Sycamore Networks, a dynamic telecommunication company providing carrier-class intelligent optical networking equipment. His responsibilities included Network Architecture, embedded linux programming, Java Network Management, and test lab planning configuration. As Senior Manager of SQA and SIT, Joseph directed 20+ test engineers, and was recognized for 300% defect reduction across multiple software releases.

His telecommunication experience also included working as Senior System Engineer at PairGain Technologies, a leader in ADSL technology. He lead development of an ETSI compliant HDSL modem, and coordinated customer support and multi-vendor field installation and troubleshooting. Prior to PairGain, Joseph worked at Hughes Aircraft in El Segundo, CA as a radar software specialist.

Joseph is active in the Westford Jewish community, being a founding member of the Nashoba Valley Jewish Center, and Temple Shir Hadash. He is also a member of the American Technion Society, supporting Israel's Institute of Technology. He enjoys boating, travel, downhill skiing and tutoring youth in science and technology.

Joseph earned his BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT in 1987 and 1988.
