Frits Riep - Senior Technology Advisor - friep@ekaru.com.
Frits is responsible for engineering implementation and ensuring excellent customer support for Ekaru and has over 25 years experience in the computer data networking and telecommunications industries working for companies like Nortel Networks and Digital Equipment Corporation (DIGITAL NETWORK PRODUCTS GROUP - Digital Equipment Corporation/Cabletron Systems). His principal roles were in marketing and product management. While at DIGITAL NETWORK PRODUCTS GROUP, Frits established Product Requirements for a successful line of Wireless LAN switches, wireless LAN NIC's, PC drivers, and network management software. He was a voting member of IEEE 802.11 and active in the standards process for the new draft 802.11b high-speed standard. Also, he was a voting member of the Wireless LAN Alliance.
While at Nortel Networks, Frits was a member of the 10 Gigabit Ethernet Alliance as spokesperson to press and analysts as well as spokesperson for the Metro Ethernet Forum. He was also Product Marketing Mgr. for a Carrier Grade Router, with ATM, Ethernet, and Packet over Sonet interfaces.
Currently, Frits is serving his community as a member of Acton's Cable Advisory Committee and is engaged in many data networking projects, for all sizes of business, as well as home networks, and enjoys reading, walking on the beach, and electronics.
Frits has an MBA from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College, and a BA from Middlebury College.
